“Simulating atmospheric processes is my passion. In any simulation, success depends on how well you can represent all the pieces and parts of your system in your model.”

Ananthakrishna Sarma is a senior scientist working in numerical weather prediction. His group designs meteorological models that combine simulation technology with atmospheric physics using advanced computational fluid dynamics techniques that can represent terrain at high resolution only where needed.

“For our group, innovation was due to outside-the-box thinking by a group of individuals.”
