An analysis of GAO's bid protest statistics

With the Government Accountability Office releasing bid protest statistics for the fiscal year 2017 this Feature Comment, written for The Government Contractor by Leidos Executive Vice President & General Counsel Jerry Howe, and James J. McCullough and Michael J. Anstett of Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP, analyzes the GAO's 2017 bid protest statistics. 

 After a stretch of years in which the top story was the increasing rate of agency voluntary corrective action, the new headline for fiscal year 2016 was a dramatic increase in GAO’s bid protest “sustain rate.” FY 2017 saw a significant regression to the norm, however.
